Its own town, made up of two connected islands between Miami Beach and Bal Harbour. One island is residential houses; the other holds low-rise apartment buildings, shops and the town’s commercial street. It is denser and younger than most of the island communities around it.

Bay Harbor Islands sits on the Broad Causeway route between the mainland and Bal Harbour, so unlike most of the islands here it is on a through road rather than behind a gate.
That is the practical difference between this town and its neighbours: you can drive on and off without clearance, and the commute figure above reflects that.
Bay Harbor Islands is served by Miami-Dade County Public Schools, and assignment is by property address rather than by town.
The district also runs magnet and choice programs open to students outside their assigned zone, each with its own application window.
Send us the addresses you are considering and we will look up the assigned schools for each. Which school suits your child is your decision.
The median home value above covers the whole town, and the town contains two quite different housing types, single-family houses on one island, apartment buildings on the other. A single median across both describes neither well.
Association dues, assessments, rental restrictions and flood zone are set building by building and need to be verified on the specific property before an offer.
Bay Harbor Islands trades more openly than the private islands nearby.
With more than 2,500 housing units, most of them in apartment buildings, there is a real public market here and published figures mean something. That is the opposite of Fisher Island or Indian Creek.
What still needs checking is the building rather than the town: two apartments on the same street can carry very different dues, reserves and rules.
Tell us what you are looking for and we will pull what is available and go through the association documents with you.
Tell us what you are looking for, and we’ll tell you what is available, what has recently traded, and what each building or association requires of an owner.
